Road Trips to the Southern Lagoon

The Southern Lagoon offers various spots with kaleidoscopic views of the coral gardens. Beyond that, the segrass beds and sandy areas are the dwelling of rays and bullhead sharks. Only twenty minutes from Noumea, the coral head of Tepava, south of the wave-platform of the islet of Maitre, is sure to win over both young and old.

Idyllic Adventures

For those who fancy a Robinson Crusoe-type adventure, there are numerous organizations offering one or two-day excursions out to sea and on an idyllic isle, with all the comfort one could ask for, leaving from Noumea or other towns of Grande Terre and the islands. Swimming, lazing in the sun, picnics on the beach and nights under the stars of the Milky Way await you.

Tibarama islet

Depart from Poindimié and cruise to the splendid islet of Tibarama. There, you can lounge, get some rest and unwind as you contemplate the tropical paradise surrounding you. Snorkel peacefully and indulge in a delicious timely picnic. Go on a guided diving tour and marvel at the beauty of preserved underwater sites.

Ouvea's Pleiades

Ouvéa Atoll, all of which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the true jewel in the crown of New Caledonia. Its waters are internationally recognized as some of the best diving spots in the world, especially the passes at Taureau and Styx.
